Start here, learn about me because I’ve taken a very long break from my blogging. Let’s catch up. I moved back to NYC in 2007 and started working for Rapunzel’s Closet in Palm Beach, FL I got married in 2009 and had a baby boy named Ryder in 2011. Do you feel like you have learned enough about me yet? Good! Now we can move on to bigger and better things.
Mom Life is the Best Life
You are never really prepared to be a mom – it’s baffling to me that the doctors actually let you leave the hospital with these little creatures without some sort of a class or at the very least a signed affidavit that you won’t screw things up. I mean they didn’t even read anything about me. There is no guide that says “Start Here.” Needless to say, when we brought the little guy home, we eventually figured it out. It turns out that we actually made a cute kid with a gentle nature. That being said, sometimes I’ve struggled with mom guilt!
When Life Hands You Lemons
You are also never really prepared for life. You don’t know much about me. I moved to New York when my husband was gainfully employed. I went from not having to work, but choosing to because I loved being busy to having to work and not loving it anymore. I became the main bread winner in our house. If you know anything about retail there are a lot of cute jeans, but not a whole lot of bread. I began to resent my husband and the fact that we were prisoners in our very expensive New York City apartment. I finally decided to make a move and relocated myself and my son to Palm Beach Gardens, FL and worked on finding out who I was again. It was another start here, learn about me moment. I was still married but living on my own as a single parent with my son. I lived on a budget and spent quality time with my child. I picked up extra side jobs to make some side money so that we could do special things together. I rediscovered that I can do things on my own and I built up my confidence at the same time. I was never going to lose control of my life again.
